Beau Blaser
Greetings Avonworth Neighbors – I’m Beau Blaser and I am running for re-election to the Avonworth Board of School Directors.

My priorities for serving on the Board are: Rigorous Academics, Innovation, and Fiscal Responsibility. We need to ensure that our teachers have appropriate tools to not only provide the traditional foundational skills we expect in our schools, but to also prepare our children to thrive in the interconnected world they will inherit.

By helping to lead the effort with our entire school community, together we can ensure that Avonworth remains a special place of learning and that our graduates will gain the knowledge, skills, experiences, and dispositions to make the most of their gifts and talents on their life’s journey – while inspiring others along the way.

Board of School Directors

My service on the Avonworth Board of School Directors started when I was appointed to fill a vacancy in 2012. I was elected to my first 4-year term in 2013 and then re-elected in 2017 and 2021.

Throughout my tenure on the Avonworth Board, I have had the opportunity to serve on many committees including: Technology, Buildings & Grounds, Athletics, Finance, Personnel, Policy, Legislative, and also as a representative on the Joint Operating Committee at the A.W. Beattie Career Center (Beattie Tech) where I held the role of Board Secretary and now, Treasurer.

In the 2019 and 2020 calendar years, I served as President of the Avonworth School Board and in 2021, the Vice President.

As a current Board Member, I am accountable to community members and district stakeholders to ensure that we are meeting the expectations of high academic standards in a fiscally responsible way.

Community

I have also been highly involved in our community over the years. My proudest accomplishments have been the time invested serving on the Pastoral Council at Sacred Heart Church in Emsworth and as the Assistant Cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 321 sponsored by Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church, Ohio Township.

Personal and Professional

Having grown up in Ben Avon, lived in Emsworth and now currently reside in Ohio Township with my family, I believe that a vibrant, safe, community and school system provide the right conditions for children to learn the skills (academic, social, emotional) they need to be happy, healthy and productive members of society.

I have three children: Michael, Avonworth Class of 2020; Jack, Avonworth Class of 2023; Conor, Avonworth Class of 2026

I studied Information and Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh and am currently employed as Educational Technology Leader at a private school in the region.

The Choice

I’m running for re-election because I believe my skills, experience, and collaborative approach will continue to help lead our school district toward a positive future. I’m proud to have played a key role in guiding Avonworth through the COVID-19 pandemic—ensuring schools remained open and students continued learning—and I remain focused on addressing ongoing academic needs. I will continue to listen to the community and work closely with fellow Board Members and the Superintendent to ensure our schools remain safe, academically strong, and innovative.

Looking ahead, I’m committed to prioritizing student opportunity, success, and supporting strategic, fiscally responsible planning for future campus development while being mindful of the tax burden on residents.

I would sincerely appreciate the support of your vote in the upcoming election on May 20.
