While the election didn’t go our way this time, I am deeply proud of what we’ve accomplished over 13 years on the Avonworth School Board.  From 1:1 laptops, expanding student opportunities – including improved buildings and facilities, new academic options, and additional sports and extracurricular programs – successfully navigating COVID-19, to increasing transparency with BoardDocs to give our community better access to agendas and district business, and countless moments of growth and learning – I am honored to have served our children and community.

Having all three of my boys vote for me this year made it extra meaningful.  And yes, I spent 13 hours standing at the polls… and somehow got a great tan in November! ☀️

Along the way, I’ve met amazing people, built lifelong friendships across our district and the eight northern area districts through the A.W. Beattie Career Center, and witnessed firsthand the power of community.

I’m grateful for every supporter – those who spoke up and the quiet heroes behind the scenes – your encouragement has meant everything!

There were certainly extra dynamics at play this election cycle, but I’m choosing to focus on the positives.  For me, it’s time to reflect, recharge, and see what other opportunities lie ahead. Stay engaged, keep advocating, and remember – our local government thrives when we all participate.  The work isn’t done…
